Over the next few weeks we will be participating in swimming lessons at Hilton Brown. A nice way to cool off as it gets hotter and work on our swimming skills before swimming sports and the triathlon next year!

Sugar Skull Art

We explored what Sugar Skulls represented in Mexican Culture. We looked at a variety of examples and looked at the symmetry and colour of each one. We also wanted to find out what the Marigold flowers represented. Ask us about our Art!

Making Cubic Meters

Last week we created cubic meters. We constructed these with newspaper to visualize how large a cubic meter was. We then had to estimate and use our problem solving skills to work out how many would fit into our classroom. How many do you estimate?

Geometry of Ballet

At the end of last term to complete our inquiry in Maths, we looked at the geometry of Ballet. We looked at the angles and symmetry in the art of Ballet dancing. Here are some examples of what we looked at and explored.

Using a protractor we measured all the angles we could find in these pictures. We also discussed what these angles were called. Can you also see the symmetry.

Production Sneak Peak

A sneak peak at the choir and cast singing 'The Time has Come' , one of the final songs. Practice continues next week before a full dress rehearsal on Friday morning for the School.

Keirunga Art Exhibition

We had a fabulous trip down to the Keirunga Art Exhibition. It was very pleasing to hear the students discussing what they were viewing. Their was lots of talk about symbolism and the different techniques artists were using and what they might be communicating.
